INTRODUCING A QUICK AND EASY QUILTING PATTERN, SIMPLY CHARMING PINWHEELS, PERFECT FOR A TABLE TOPPER OR WALL HANGING!
I can’t believe that I haven’t yet introduced you to one of my earliest designs – the Simply Charming Pinwheels Quilt Pattern! It’s a cute pattern that’s perfect as a table topper or wall hanging.
What I especially love about this easy pattern is that it is charm-pack friendly. I used two packs of charms – one vibrant prints and the other a cream-on-cream low-volume collection.
One thing I really love about this pattern is its simplicity. Once you’ve created your half-square triangles, you can arrange them however you like and make it your own. Follow the layout I’ve given you in the pattern, or make your own design!
Plus, changing up the quilting totally changes the whole look and feel of Simply Charming Pinwheels. I’ve quilted mine using simple crosshatch lines, but it would be totally different with a spiral or stippling.
If you’re a beginner quilter, fear not! This design is all half-square triangles, making it incredibly beginner-friendly. There are no complex shapes or intricate techniques here.

Quilting Tools
Every great quilt starts with great tools. You will need the following:
- Rotary cutter and mat – You can absolutely use a good pair of scissors, but I do find that you get the most accurate cuts using a rotary cutter.
- Quilting Ruler
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Iron and ironing board or pressing mat
- Pins or clips
- Fabric marker
- Spray starch
Remember, you can keep all your quilting supplies together in a simple way using a Portable Sewing Room!

To get the most accurate cuts for your quilt, you can use the Accuquilt cutting system! Cut up to six layers at a time and get perfectly even squares. Be sure to check out my AccuQuilt GO Review video to hear my thoughts on this cutting machine and see a short demonstration.
