Here we are, December 23.  Only TWO more sleeps until Christmas!  No matter how old I get, I think I will always count down the last few days until Christmas.

This year, we are so fortunate to be celebrating our grandbaby’s first Christmas.  And in the years to come, we will get to appreciate this wonderful season through the eyes of a child.  The magic and wonder is what it’s really all about 🎄

Workday derailed ❤️

Earlier this week, I took a day to head out of town for some last-minute shopping with my daughter, granddaughter, mom and sister.  It was a great day, filled with laughter and, of course, holiday cheer!  I finished up my to-do list, enjoyed a delicious lunch and really got to enjoy a day off!

Advent continues to march forward, with an especially thoughtful gift for Day 19 from my sister …

Yummm, my sister made all my favourites, include caramel cookies and Christmas crack!

And that same night, we had the family over for some Chinese Food and laughs 😊  It used to be our family’s tradition to have Chinese take-out on Christmas Eve, but as our family continues to grow, that’s becoming a little unwieldy.  This year, my mom mentioned she had a craving, so we made a night of it!

These 3 Wise Penguins wish you a Happy Holiday!

I didn’t spend much time in my sewing room doing any actual sewing this week – my cutting table became my gift-wrapping table!  Once all that is out of the way and under the tree, I’ll be setting myself up for some new projects.  I’ve got a few UFOs and WIPs hanging around, so they may be the first pieces that I tackle.

The idea of starting the New Year with a clean slate AND a clean sewing room sounds pretty good to me!

I’ve been playing with a few ideas for some new patterns for the cross-stitch department, but funny enough, they are all Christmas ideas!  Go figure.  I’ll be adding a few Valentine ideas shortly, so keep an eye out for those.

The trees are trimmed, the halls are decked and I plan to sit and enjoy my surroundings over the next week.  I don’t actually start taking anything down until at least the 10th of January.  When do you take your decorations down?

I think I will be much more intentional this year about what gets put away into storage and what will get donated.  I usually hang onto Christmas decorations for a couple of years after I last used them, just in case my style changes again, but if I haven’t displayed something in three years, there’s a very good chance I never will.

You can find LOTS of Disney touches throughout the house.

There were no new decorations bought this year, but between a few things my mom was getting rid of, a few ornaments in my advent calendar and a new plan of display, everything old felt new again.

Once the Christmas decor is down, though, I think I’ll be doing a lot more with Disney decorating … stay tuned for that!

Donald Duck and his friends are hanging out in our family room tree!

For Christmas morning, we will be hosting our daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law and his mom and sister.  My mom will also be joining the festivities, so I wanted to find a recipe to make for the group.  This delicious Sausage Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole that I found on Mommy Mouse Clubhouse is the perfect dish!  Mindy has a great website, full of delicious recipes and handy Disney tips.

Speaking of Disney tips, I can tell you that things are starting to ramp up over on The Main Street Mommas!  I had a planning session with one of the mommas earlier in the week, and oh boy, do we have plans!  Be sure to visit to find out what we’re up to!

On a slight down note, the weather man is not cooperating.  When I think of Christmas, I think of all the good things, of course, but I can’t help but wish for snow each year.  And it’s not looking good.  One forecast says maybe snow on Christmas night, but the other one says no way!

This canvas makes me want far more snow for Christmas!

Way back when I lived in Vancouver, green Christmases were pretty standard.  But when I moved back to my hometown, I got to enjoy the snow again.  But this is how it’s looking:

All I want is a White Christmas, but it’s not looking promising. The roses on my mom’s patio are blooming!

Keep your fingers crossed for me and my snow, will you?

That’s about all I have for you this week.  Be sure to keep an eye on my blog and YouTube channel next week, when I’ll be recapping my Missouri Star advent calendar!

Thanks for joining me for Show and Tell.  Merry Christmas ❤️
