I can’t believe that it’s nearly the end of March already.  This year is flying by!

It’s been a busy month here at Our Little Handmade Home.  I got a lot of things finished, some of which I didn’t even know I would be starting!  With only one week until April, I’m going to keep pushing and see what else I can check off my list!

I celebrated my birthday with a family dinner, which was really nice.  On Friday, though, my daughter stopped by the house with an early gift to “kick off the birthday weekend”, as she put it ❤️

My daughter knows me too well! I do enjoy kicking off my “birthday season” with a little something a couple of days early 😊

You can see what she got me HERE!

I got to spend a lot of time in my sewing room this week and I loved almost every minute of it!  After all, I’m not sure I’d be telling the truth if I said I LOVED ripping out stitches.  At the end of the week, I finished a small quilt to hang above my new (to me) piano!  I love the soft colours of this gorgeous Dutch Pinwheel.  It’s perfect for Spring 🌸

I’ve wanted a piano for some time now and when I found this beauty online for FREE, I simply couldn’t say no!

And I had enough HSTs left over to make a coordinating pillow cover!  You know how I love my pillows.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love pillows? Maybe once or twice, I think!

My Hourglass Quilt finally made it onto the longarm and I’m so pleased with how it came out!  I added a purple blender fabric as the binding for a different pop of colour and of course I made two coordinating pillow covers as well.

Our living room is finally taking on more of a handmade feel with the addition of these two quilts!

You can get this pattern, which comes with TEN sizes, in my shop!  Here’s the link: Hourglass Quilt Pattern

Adding the piano to our living room set off a chain of events that saw a few pieces of furniture get shifted around.  My husband was less than impressed but he’s a good sport about it!

I moved our antique bookcase into my sewing room, for two reasons.  One, I think it will look absolutely beautiful when it’s full of fabrics and quilts.  And two, I was going to put it into our guest room but that room will soon be doubling as a playroom for Miss P when she comes to hang out with me every Friday while her Mum gets her new business off the ground!

My new Hourglass Quilt was called into immediate action to double as a playmat when Miss P came to visit!

I really didn’t think a glass-front bookcase was particularly child friendly.  Instead, one of the Kallax units from my room will be making its way in there to hold her books, toys and other essentials.

I spent nearly half a day just cleaning up the carnage from the quilt-fest of this week, but it gave me a chance to sort through some of my scraps as well.  I don’t have a huge pile of scraps, so I figured I should start while the pile is manageable!

The goal is to use my AccuQuilt to cut fabrics into the largest pieces I can, unless I have a specific plan in mind.  I think I’ll be cutting a lot of half-square triangles as well.

I’ve been so tired when I go to bed lately that I haven’t been reading much.  But I did make a decision and purchased a Kindle Paperwhite!  I’ve also got Kindle Unlimited, so hit me with your best recommendations!  What are YOU reading right now?

Can you imagine packing all these books in a suitcase? No way! But with my new Kindle, I can take them all with me any time I like!

And did you know – you can connect your Audible account to your Kindle?  How great is that?  With the extra long battery life of the Kindle, you can listen to your books without draining your phone.  Perfect for travel!

The countdown continues to our Disneyland trip, and it’s getting so close!

We’ve been to Disneyland more times than I can count, but I’m always looking for ways to be more efficient and organized.  This year, I decided to purchase some Compression Packing Cubes to keep my suitcase better organized and help leave a little room for some shopping!  I’ll be sure to let you know how they work out.

Thanks for joining me for Show and Tell ❤️
