As I mentioned above, I love the idea of giving handmade cards for special occasions. The thought of being able to customize tags at Christmas, create invitations to my own events, even make those crazy cool wall signs – I love it all. But on a scale of 1 to 10, my artistic talent sits at around negative 23. I have the ideas, but I’ve never learned to translate the pictures in my head onto paper (or wood, or cards – you get the idea). So I bought my first Cricut Maker last year. Like I said before, I’m even making labels for my bottles at home. I make my own Natural Air Fresheners, and I created my own shiny labels for the bottles. Love them! Cricut has an amazing array of adhesive vinyl for this purpose, so you can really go wild! Try colour-coordinating your pantry items or body care products. There’s virtually no limit to how you can use them!
Save Time and Money!
What?? Save time AND money? Yup, count me in! Yes, of course, there is an initial outlay of money for the Cricut Maker, but when I look at the cost of birthday cards these days and then start adding up family members who receive cards from us, the Maker pays for itself inside a year. And that’s not counting Christmas gift tags and any other crafts I choose to make throughout the year! Say what??? I’m sorry, but it’s just totally worth it right there. Then, if you are able to whip up a card from supplies that you already have at home, you save yourself the trip to the store and, if you’re anything like me, the cost of whatever else you decide to purchase while you’re out! It’s a win-win, for sure!
