I’m excited to introduce you to a delightful addition to Our Little Handmade Home – the Fall Pumpkin counted cross stitch pattern. As the leaves turn golden and the air gets crisp, what better way to cozy up your home than with a handmade touch of autumn?

This pattern is perfect for beginners looking to dip their toes into the world of cross-stitching, and it’s a fantastic way to bring a touch of fall into your crafting repertoire.

About the Fall Pumpkin Cross Stitch Pattern

  • Skill Level: Beginner
  • Finished Design Size: 2.9 x 3.1 inches
  • Stitches Used: full cross-stitch only, no backstitching

This easy pattern is perfect for anyone new to the world of cross-stitch, but it’s also a great little piece to add to a larger project if you like. 

You could use the Fall Pumpkin in a multitude of ways – display it on a tiered tray, create place settings for your Thanksgiving table, make a bookmark, or so many other options!

Materials and Tools

Fall Pumpkin requires the following materials. However, cross-stitch is a personal journey, so feel free to deviate and bring your unique touch to the design with your preferred materials!

Fabric: I used black 14-count Aida, but choose what suits your style and decor.

Threads: DMC is my absolutely go-to for floss, but of course, you can choose the brand you love most.  There are a number of online tools that will convert the numbers to the brand of your choice.

    • DMC 740 – Tangerine
    • DMC 780 – Topaz ultra very dark
    • DMC 700 – Christmas Green bright

Needles

Embroidery Scissors

Embroidery Hoop: Hoops are totally optional.  I have always used a hoop, but I tried going without for this project and it turns out I really like it!

Highlighter or Marking Pen

Magnifier or Light
