INTRODUCING THE CRISS CROSS CHRISTMAS QUILT, A GORGEOUS THREE-FABRIC PATTERN PERFECT FOR YOUR HOLIDAY STITCHING!

I’m so excited to introduce you to the Criss Cross Christmas Quilt, my latest quilt pattern!  It’s a charming buffalo plaid design that’s perfect for adding a touch of coziness to your holiday décor or your beds.

Before we dive into the details of this pattern, let me share a bit about what inspired me to create it. I’ve always been drawn to the timeless beauty of buffalo plaid, so I wanted to capture that classic, rustic charm and infuse it with a touch of holiday spirit. The result? The Criss Cross Christmas Quilt!

One of the things I love about this pattern is its simplicity. If you’re a beginner quilter, fear not! This design is all squares, making it incredibly beginner-friendly. There are no complex shapes or intricate techniques here – just the joy of arranging squares to create a stunning buffalo plaid effect.

I truly believe that quilting should be accessible to everyone, regardless of your skill level or the size of your project. That’s why the Criss Cross Christmas Quilt Pattern includes TEN different quilt sizes. That’s right – TEN!  Whether you want to make a cute table topper or wall hanging, a cozy throw for your sofa or a festive bedspread for the guest room, this pattern has you covered.

Fabrics Required

To bring my first Criss Cross Christmas Quilt to life, I used fabrics from the Jolly Good collection by BasicGrey for Moda.  Of course, any holiday fabrics will do!  For the video below, I have chosen completely different fabrics from the Arrival of Winter by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs.

Whichever fabrics you choose, you will need only three fabrics – a dark colour, medium colour and light colour.

You will also need batting, backing and binding.

Quilting Tools

Every great quilt starts with great tools.  You will need the following:

To get the most accurate squares for your quilt, you can use the Accuquilt cutting system!  Cut up to six layers at a time and get perfectly even squares.  Be sure to check out my video above to see the Accuquilt in action!
