What is the AccuQuilt GO!?
Before we get into my list of pros and cons for this cutting system, let’s answer the simple question – what is it?
The AccuQuilt GO! is a cutting system comprised of a cutting machine and dies. Fabric is placed on a cutting die and rolled through the cutter, resulting in uniform cut pieces.
The magic is in the simplicity. It really isn’t much more than I’ve just said – place your fabric, roll it through and get stitching! Naturally, there are a few more details, but at its core, the AccuQuilt is just as simple as it sounds.

My Top 3 Pros of the AccuQuilt GO!
As with any purchase, I like to consider the pros and cons. My Pros list could go on and on, but in the spirit of keeping it simple and fair, I’ll be focusing on my top three.
The AccuQuilt GO! system is a game-changer when it comes to precision cutting. It uses dies to cut fabric with accuracy, ensuring that each piece is perfectly shaped.
As quilters, we know how essential it is to have clean, accurate cuts. The better the cuts, the better the quilt, am I right?
I cut all my pieces for this cute Simply Charming Pinwheel Quilt using my Half Square Triangle die from the 8″ GO Qube, and I loved how quick and easy it was to complete it!
One of the really big advantages of the AccuQuilt GO! system is the efficiency. Traditional cutting methods can be time-consuming, especially when dealing with intricate patterns or multiple fabric layers. With AccuQuilt, you can cut multiple pieces at once, which streamlines your workflow and allows you to spend less time cutting and more time stitching!
With the AccuQuilt GO!, you can cut up to six layers of fabric at once. When you combine that with the accuracy that I noted above, it’s a total game-changer.
Ease of Use
The AccuQuilt GO! is very simple to use. While it might sound like I’m over-simplifying, I’m really not.
Place your fabric on the die, put the cover on it and roll it on through. When it comes out the other side, you’ve got your pieces cut for you! Easy peasy!
My Top 3 Cons of the AccuQuilt GO!
It would be very easy to tell you that there are oh so many upsides to this system, and that would absolutely be true. However, I would not be doing you a service if I didn’t point out these aspects of the AccuQuilt GO!
While the long-term benefits are significant, the initial cost of the AccuQuilt GO! system might be a drawback for some quilters. This is especially true for those who are just starting and might be on a tight budget.
It’s crucial for you to decide if you are prepared for this investment piece. Of course, there are options. You could wait for a sale – get on the email list for AccuQuilt and keep an eye out. You could purchase your AccuQuilt with a friend of two that also quilts. Or you can save up and purchase it when you’re ready.
Limited Die Sizes and Designs
The range of available dies seems to grow daily, but they still might not cover what you’re looking for. AccuQuilt does offer customization of dies, but this will be an added expense. I have not tried any customization, so I can’t give you any insight into that process.
Dependency on Compatible Dies
The AccuQuilt GO! system only works with compatible dies and the dies can’t be used on any other machines or cutting systems. Also, depending on what size of AccuQuilt system you have, some dies may not fit the smaller cutting machines. For example, the GO! me is a small, portable cutter that is designed for the smaller dies. Larger dies simply won’t fit.
Overall, I think the AccuQuilt GO! cutting system offers fantastic advantages in precision, time-saving, and ease. For me, the pros outweighed the cons. As I said, I could have listed many more pros, but in the interest of fairness and clarity, I kept it to three.
